👀 Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our data infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring data reliability, scalability, and accuracy across our systems. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement robust ETL processes, develop data pipelines, and manage data warehouses that power advanced analytics and machine learning models. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless data integration and alignment with business goals.
This is a senior-level position that requires technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
👨💻 👩💻 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Infrastructure Development:
- Design and implement scalable ETL processes to transform raw data into structured formats.
- Build and manage data warehouses to consolidate and organize data from multiple sources.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, defining clear workflows, technologies, and steps for processing and moving data.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Execute comprehensive tests on ETL processes to ensure error-free and reliable data generation.
- Continuously monitor and maintain ETL processes to prevent data inconsistencies.
- Validate data outputs for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business needs.
Big Data Integration:
- Leverage AWS services such as EMR, Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, and Step Functions to manage large-scale data systems.
- Implement big data solutions that enable real-time analytics and machine learning capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide clear documentation and guidance for data processes and workflows.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Guide and mentor junior team members in data engineering best practices.
- Contribute to the overall data strategy by proposing innovative solutions and optimizations.
📝 Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a similar role, working with large-scale data systems.
- Proven experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Proven Leadership experience.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of AWS architectures and services (EMR, Glue, Lambda, S3, Athena, Step Functions, IAM, API Gateway).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow.
- Familiarity with MongoDB and Node.js is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively across teams and explain complex concepts clearly.
Language Proficiency:
- Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher) is required.
- Spanish proficiency is an asset.
